Jamie D

Jamie D found dance by way of gymnastics- she competed as a gymnast fro ages 5 to 18 and realized that, when her body could no longer twist and flip in the air, it could still leap and turn on the ground! Jamie began dance with the Grapevine High School Fabulous Fillies where she served as a line officer and lieutenant. She has performed at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade and regional dance competition solo finals.

Jamie earned a bachelor of science in Psychology from TCU, where she proudly danced and competed for 4 years with the Showgirls Dance Team. While at TCU, Jamie choreographed and coached the Cross Timbers Middle School Dance Team and choreographed competition pieces for several local high schools.

Jamie earned her PhD in Developmental Psychology at the University of Texas at Dallas where she is now a Postdoctoral Research Fellow studying parenting and parent-child relationships. She is also the creator of www.AvantGardeParenting.com, a website aimed at providing parents of young children with progressive tips, ideas, and resources.

She never thought she would share her heart through dance again and is so excited to be a part of Dance Unending!
